Licensure & Recertification Requirements for EMTs & Paramedics

Impact EMS training offers 100% online continuing education designed to help EMS professionals meet Florida license renewal requirements.

In Florida, EMS certification is regulated by the Florida Department of Health (DOH), Bureau of EMS. Florida allows providers to renew their certification either by maintaining National Registry (NREMT) certification or by completing state-specific continuing education requirements.

If you hold a current NREMT certification, you may renew your Florida license through continued NREMT recertification.

Florida EMS certifications operate on a two-year renewal cycle. Licenses expire every two ears on the provider’s certification expiration date. Renewals must be completed through the Florida Department of Health licensing system.

Florida utilizes CE Broker for EMS recertification. Our Florida-approved courses can also be located on CE Broker.

Because requirements can change, EMS professionals should always verify renewal requirements with the Florida DOH and the National Registry.
