Looking for a flexible way to start your Emergency Medical Services (EMS) career?
Emergency Medical Responders often provide immediate, lifesaving care during the first minutes of an emergency, before additional EMS resources arrive. This initial EMR training course builds your foundation in patient assessment, airway management, medical emergencies, trauma care, and other essential prehospital skills.
After successfully completing the Impact EMS Training EMR course, you’ll be eligible to take the National Registry Emergency Medical Responder (NREMR) certification exam. Passing the National Registry exam is an important step toward becoming a certified EMR. State licensing or certification requirements may vary depending on where you plan to practice.
Impact EMS Training designed this online EMR course for students who need high-quality initial EMS education that works around real life.
With Impact EMS Training, you can:

Two payments: $650/month

Build a strong foundation in the EMS system, responder safety and wellness, patient lifting and movement, medical and legal considerations, communication, documentation, anatomy, and physiology.

Build foundational trauma care skills for bleeding, soft-tissue injuries, head and spine injuries, chest and abdominal trauma, orthopedic injuries, and environmental emergencies.

Once you have paid the $100 enrollment fee on this page, you will be forwarded to complete your enrollment process.
Once that process is complete and we receive your first payment, you will receive access to your EMR course’s entire online educational (didactic) portion to complete at your own pace.
Your didactic education includes recorded lectures, videos, quizzes, exams, and interactive activities.
Important notes: This course must be completed in 6 months or less, and you must possess basic computer skills and internet access to access your education online.
You are not required to purchase your own textbook, which is included in the cost of tuition.
Once you have completed enrollment, the first payment, and your first assignment, we will send you your copy of the EMR textbook.
Yes, learners can use email or chat inside the course portal to communicate with their assigned instructor!
Typically, your instructor is only available during regular business hours, but we always ensure a prompt reply. If you need to speak to an instructor via phone, we are happy to arrange a time for a phone call.
The entire educational (didactic) portion and psychomotor skills must be completed within six (6) months.
Yes, you are required to complete ride-a-longs to obtain your patient contact hours.
We ask that you make a good-faith effort to complete your ride-a-longs to observe EMS calls and patient interactions. We provide you with liability insurance to complete those observations with an ambulance agency, hospital, or fire department. We understand that many agencies may not allow observation for various reasons. Therefore, we may simulate these during psychomotor skills sessions near the conclusion of your course.
