Did you receive one day of vent education and then be blessed by your FTO off to run calls? Was your ventilator education taught way over your head, and nothing stuck? Does volume control make sense, but you need help once they start talking about pressure settings?
If you said yes to any of the above or just want a refresher in ventilator concepts, we developed this course for you!
Stop guessing and finally learn those foundational ventilator concepts. Every dial spin or button press on your ventilator can harm a patient if you do not know what you are doing.
We will not turn you into a Respiratory Therapist in two hours, but we will make you feel ten times more confident the next time you grab that ventilator or adjust your patient’s I:E ratio.
When managing critical patients, knowing the why behind what you are doing is imperative. We will cover lung dynamics, pathophysiology, modes, settings, scenarios, and troubleshooting alarms.

I recently purchased the basic vent course to try out Impacts format before committing to a more expensive FP-C prep course. I have been running critical care for almost 10 years and this was an amazing course that helped me brush up on things as well has learning a few new things. I was so impressed with this course I presented it to our critical care coordinator as a possible course of entry for new critical care interns.
Basic Ventilator Management
Very informative for the IFT paramedic. The instructor is enthusiastic and breaks down information appropriately.
Great course and ESPECIALLY great last part of practical application... if i could ask for anything, i'd just ask for a split screen to walk through the math, THEN move to "in your head"... AMAZING as expected from IA MED!!!
